Long Term Care Ombudsman Program

Recruits and trains volunteers to visit long-term care facilities. Ombudsmen receive, investigate, and attempt to resolve complaints. Ombudsmen work with residents, family members, and facility staff. Considers patient rights, quality of care, abuse, physical environment, and other related issues. Advocates for better care for all elders. Serves as a witness for nursing home residents signing their durable power of attorney for healthcare services. Provides information and advice to those considering long-term care or trying to choose a facility. Provides advice and assistance with discharge planning for clients leaving long-term care. Also provides training to nursing home personnel and develops resident councils.

Bicycle Repair Instruction

Provides classes to teach people of all ages and backgrounds how to repair bicycles. Offers bike repair and bicycle related projects. Promotes personal development and provides leadership opportunities. Offers affordable ways to get and maintain a bike. Services include youth programs and encourage re-use and recycling. ​ Accepts donation of bicycles and parts. Volunteers are also needed at any skill level.

General Assistance Program
