Methadone Maintenance Program

1301 Pierce Street, San Francisco, CA 94115
Provides outpatient detoxification for up to 180 days followed by methadone maintenance and counseling services to heroin addicts whose addiction is so severe and/or long-term that maintenance is a necessary adjunct to counseling. The program seeks to stabilize clients' lives by drawing them away from the patterns of a drug-abuse lifestyle. After a period of methadone maintenance, the client is slowly withdrawn from methadone. Counselors assist clients in making the adjustment to a drug-free lifestyle.
